My mother is Dutch-Indonesian and was also expelled in 1956, along with her family, from Indonesia. I have many old letters and documents that show how hard it was to leave everything behind. Her parent’s were also held in the camps during WWII. My great grandmother’s maiden name was Wollrabe. This is so interesting, thanks for doing this and we are looking forward to the film!

This is fantastic to finally have the story of our culture be told. My parents told me so much about the old days and Japanese occupation. I was born in Bandung, Indonesia in 1951 I remember so much of the events that took place at that time and the exodus from Indonesia to Holland in 1957 by ship and how we were discriminated against once arriving in Holland. I have been living outside Portland, Oregon for the past 30 years and am very surprised that there is an large indo cummunity here. I am very interested in meeting and talking to indos.

Ibu mertua saya indo belanda, 73 th, penya family di Holland, sampai tahun 1995 sering berkirim surat ke Holland dan dibalas, Mereka bernama Eddy Zackard, Hanny Zackard, Wally Zackard dan Oma Din. Surat tahun 1997 dikirim kembali dari Holland dengan keterangan nama dan alamat tidak dikenal. Mereka semua lahir di Surabaya. Sekarang Ibu mertua saya (my mother on Law) tinggal bersama saya di jakarta.
Kami mencoba membangun komunikasi dengan mereka. Semoga

This sounds wonderful! I look forward to the film and would also like to say thank you for having this website to inform all of us curious Dutch-Indo’s. Also, I’m the cousin of Angelica. We have a large family and are always happy to meet other Indo’s.

It’s just great to see that online sites and communities are allowing us to find and realize where our ancestors and friends have been all along.
